Register at the University of Zürich

To register with the University of Zürich (UZH) in order to visit classes and take exams do the following (I assume you are already registered as a PhD student at ETH Zürich):

1. Go to the Kanzlei of UZH (see http://www.plaene.uzh.ch/lageplaene/KOL3D.html#ankermap: the 'K' on E-Floor denotes the Kanzlei. I think it is room E 8) and ask for the form "Gesuch für den Besuch eines Nebenfachs auf Masterstufe"

2. Fill out the form, sign it.

3. Make the Prof who is teaching the course sign the form and get a stamp from the Institute. If you visit the Prof at her office she will be able to do both for you. If not, go to the office of the Institutsleitung for the stamp.

4. Go back to the Kanzlei to get their signature. Do not bring along the documents that are requested at the back of the  form. I was told at the Kanzlei, that they where not necessary and they were not even looked at.

5. Receive Login per Mail.

6. Sign up for lectures: Go to http://www.students.uzh.ch/booking.html. Read page and follow link "module booking" (that is "Zum Login Modulbuchung" in German). Enter the information you obtained in step 5. Book lectures and make a printout of your bookings (you never know...).
